How do we steal?

1. Theft, robbery and extortion (Deuteronomy 5:19; Ezekiel 22:29; Exodus 21:16)

“The people of the land have practiced extortion and committed robbery. They have oppressed the poor and needy…”

2. From Employees (Jeremiah 22:13; James 5:4-5)

Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and the cries…have reached the ears of the Lord…”

3. From Employers (Titus 2:9-10)

“Bondservants are to be…well-pleasing, not argumentative, not pilfering, but showing all good faith, so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.”

4. Refusing to work (2 Thessalonians 3:10-12)

“… If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies….we encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ…to earn their own living.”

5. Failing to pay debts (Romans 13:8; Psalm 37:21; Proverbs 3:28)

6. Tax Evasion (Mark 12:17; Romans 13:7)

7. Robbing God (Malachi 3:8; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; Romans 12:1)
